This painting was executed using water colour and acrylic on paper. Bright and dark shades of colours, in the monochromatic grading from yellow to umber, were extensively used to reinforce the three dimensional qualities of the figures.  Circles of different sizes were used to encapsulate both the central object of a semi abstracted figure of a squatted pregnant woman, and a suspended image of a developing child in the womb. The closeness of both figures and circles were used to symbolize the relationship between a woman and her unborn child. The complex yet patterned based visual configuration of the composition is symbolic of the plethora of emotions and though processes that women experience during pregnancy.
