This painting reflects on a common theme of fertility. The search for fertility is a common nature denominator to all humanity including the Tiv and Tamil ethnicities. The “imborivungu” pipe for the Tiv is a fertility object that brings about abundance. These mixed media paintings explore the connotations (Sun, wholes, circles and triangles) of fertility by re-contextualizing varying ideograms in new painterly dimensions.
